1986 Johnson E Scow: $1500!

Johnson was in its heyday when this boat rolled out of the glass shop in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.   And, if it’s like most Johnson scows of that era, this boat is stiff and dry.  In the right hands, she will fly.

This boat was nearly sold, but the deal fell through and is back on the market for a mere $1500.

It could be outfitted for the class-standard asymmetrical spinnaker. Or it could be sailed as the original symmetrical spinnaker boat.  The E is a 28-foot scow capable of speeds approaching 30 knots.  They weigh about 900 pounds and carry crew of  3 or 4. The E scow has a Portsmouth rating of 74.

This E boat has been sitting for at least four years under tarps and boat cover. It’s hull designation “W” indicates it was originally sailed on White Bear Lake, MN.  New lines all the way around. Spinnaker bags are fine.  Sails are so so. Trailer is absolutely bombproof , but needs new tires.  This is a steal.  Buyer must pick up in Slippery Rock PA.  Leave a message in the comment line below…we will reply.
