Joe Ewing from Ohio won the Inaugural Inland20 Rehoboth Bay regatta Aug 17-18, despite unfamiliar water and new crew.

First place in the family category went to son/father team Derick and John Fahnestock. (John has been doing some amazing work to bring that boat back to life.) Stas Burgiel, with Rilke and Haiku in the strings, finished a strong second in the family category. Nice job!
The event will be preceded by a two-day “Scow Clinic” Aug. 15-16, led by long time scow sailor Joe Ewing. Inland20 sailors will be offering rides in their boats at the same time they hone their scow skills.
The race is also featuring an “intergenerational” award category for family teams with more than one generation. These teams might be parent/child or grandparent/grandchild.
Top honors for the 2019 Cherry Blossom Regatta in Washington DC would come down to this: the final leg after the final rounding in the final race.
Until then, the fourth annual race might have gone to either of the visiting rivals. Continue reading Ewing Celebrates 2019 Cherry Blossom Win
Scow Fleet Captain Jack Sheehan won the 2019 PRSA fall scow racing series and Scow Race Director Stew Harris won the spring series. The two scow sailors got their names on a plaque at the annual Potomac River Sailing Association soiree, Nov. 15 at the Heavy Seas in Arlington.
The PRSA also awarded Sheehan and Harris with the Nabeel Alsalem Award for fleet development. The scow fleet has grown to six I20s, one M scow and one MC Scow.
