Scow Impressions

It’s always a lot of fun to get some new sailors into a boat and show them what it feels like to skim across the water with nothing but windpower.   Stuart and Henry joined me for a couple hours in early Juneand they seemed to enjoy it.  We went upriver to Hains Point then back down.  Both tried their hand at the tiller.  We luffed to see what it was like to stall the boat heading too far upwind.  Then we bore off to power up the sails again.  there wasn’t enough wind for full on hiking action, but we heeled Whistlebritches a bit as the puffs hit us, pushing us downwind.
